The Owner of My Soul Vol 2: Prologue and Chapter 1

PROLOGUE

A YEAR AFTER PART II

I welcome you once again to the epics of my life. I’m your host, Kenneth Day’quan Johnson. It’s been a year since that beautiful day that Will and I defeated our brothers in quadruple-overtime in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. We faced them again this past season and it wasn’t as close. Will and I devoted our off-season time in getting better then what we were and making sure our support was top notch. We played KJ and Terrell again in the NBA Finals, but swept them, blowing em out in every game. We capped this past season once again with an undefeated streak. The NBA was still not anywhere near our level of playing. In an NBA 2Nite exclusive, the hosts were stating that and I quote,

“Kenny Johnson and Will Smith can enjoy every victory they have, but pretty soon their streak will end. Their time is coming soon and when it gets here, no one should be surprised.”

Still winning and still not comin close to gaining a loss, we still have hatas everywhere. It’s all good though because we strive to prove people wrong.
Enough about basketball lets move on to business. I don’t know if any of you remember, but I made a decision the night of Game 7 about making Tierra (my daughter for those of you that don’t remember) my main focus as far as creating things that will attract kids everywhere. When I was reinstated as CEO, I immediately got to work. Tierra and I talked about a lot of ideas that she had and I didn’t disagree with a single one. Will and I decided to no longer stamp a SJ Enterprise mark on their products. Will used Karla for the same reason and it developed into a friendly competition. Everything Tierra came up with, I marked JC for Johnson Corporation. Everything Karla came up with, Will marked SC for Smith Corporation. The competition remained friendly and very close. Every once in a while, Karla will sell more of one of her products and Tierra would sell more of one of her products.
To better breakdown exactly what they’re creating, Tierra’s ideas are strictly based on things that she wants to see in the world. It can range from a baby doll that’s as close to the real thing as possible, to clothes that never get dirty no matter how much you roll in the mud. Karla’s ideas are more along things that are family based; board games, video games, and sometimes activity centers. Karla convinced Will to open a brand new kid’s fun world; consisting of things that you would see in Chuck E. Cheese, amusement parks, and other things. Will opened 10 of these across the Greater Cleveland area and plans on opening another 100 within the next 6 months. The project brings in about $200 billion dollars every two weeks. Tierra loves the friendly competition between her and Karla, so she convinced me to open up somethin similar. This place consisted of a few other things: a 25-lane bowling alley, a movie theater, swimming pool, 15’ x 15’ ball room, bumper cars, go karts, and a whole bunch of stuff that she said kids would love to do. The place was huge, so I was only able to open 4 across Cleveland. The place brings in over $500 billion every two weeks. I’m in the process of opening 15 more across all of Cleveland, 200 around the nation, and 20,000 around the world.
Chris and Dre did decide to open their own business, but was smart in making sure it didn’t compete with us. They created a chain of “strip/night club restaurants”. What the hell is that you ask? Let me explain. It’s a restaurant at day, night/strip club at night. From 0800 to 2200, it’s a restaurant the size of a normal Olive Garden. They serve everything from soul food, Chinese food, Italian, and among otha nationalities. At 2200, the night club and strip club open. It closes at 0800, making this place open all 24 hours. The restaurant is also a drive thru, pick up, and they deliver. The entire building is connected, but is very well guarded to keep those that aren’t supposed to be in a certain area out of that area.
For example, kids won’t be able to get in the strip club area. The walls are extremely thick, so sounds of one area isn’t heard in another. The music in the night club can’t be heard in the strip club and vice versa. Chris and Andre are thinking bout adding a casino to this. They currently have 100 strippers, 10 DJs, 40 cooks, 30 waiters/waitresses, and 300 security guards. A lot of guest appearances by R&B and rap stars have been made including Will and me. The strippers are free to do whatever they want, in fact, some of them have been known to do prostitution in the private rooms. No one cares cuz you have to make your money how you can.
Now it’s time to touch on my personal life. Sydney and I stayed together and have been together since the last installment. Things are goin real good, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Sydney and Tierra are getting along real well. Monique and Tierra spend a little time together by her request. Tierra’s relationship with her mother is no where near strong. Monique once again missed Tierra’s birthday. Once again, Monique was getting some action on Tierra’s birthday, but Sydney was definitely there, so Tierra didn’t care as much as she would have. I pulled Tierra out of school because it wasn’t doin anything for her. I decided to teach Tierra myself and give her some on-the-job training. She’s only 5, so I didn’t overload her. Her creativity, imagination, and just her complete knowledge all together just amazes me. I can’t help but think about how true Chainsaw was when he said Tierra and Karla will run the universe. More and more planets were being discovered and ways of making them inhabitable were being developed by SJ Enterprise. We were really starting to rule the world. Dad and Uncle Tevin became involved in everything: astrology, meteorology, geography….just everything. We have ways of predicting weather to the minute. For example, Dad put out a weather report for Euclid and said it will be a sever thunderstorm at 3:02 am and a tornado at 4:13 am. Sho nuff both happened at the time he said. No injuries, no deaths, everything was all good.
While I’m thinking bout it, I found out some mo trifling stuff about Monique’s father. A few times while we were still married, she was pregnant with my child. Come to find out, he did somethin, causing her to have a miscarriage. How did he know about her pregnancy? His ability to see the future showed that she was pregnant. Of course, I would have normally whooped his ass for it, but I decided to leave him alone since Monique and I were no longer together.
The last thing I want to touch on is our new home. We all still live together but in a new state-of-the-art mansion that we designed ourselves. Everything is accessed by fingerprint and eye scan. No doorknobs whatsoever. It has a whole bunch of “smart house” features. The perimeter defense system consists of weapons hidden underground that pop up and aim directly at an intruder. It doesn’t engage unless orders are disobeyed. It’s activated by anyone that’s in the area without authorization. Either your name is on the “Pass List” or authorized by one of the residents. As far as the inside goes, downstairs is normal: big living room, dining room, kitchen, conference room and all that stuff. The only difference is our floors. Dre and Yvonne still have the 2nd floor, Chris and Toya has 3rd, Will and Candace has 4th, and I have 5th. The weight room is on its own floor, being 6th. The basketball court is on the 7th. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi is on the 8th floor with a retractable roof. Each floor is like a 4-bed, 4 bath apartment with over 6,000 sq ft. There’s a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom with its own bathroom, kid’s bedroom with its own bathroom, and two other rooms and two other bathrooms. I turned one of the extra bedrooms into an entertainment room and the otha one into Tierra’s room. My office was on the first floor along with Will’s, Chris’s, and Dre’s.
I touched on everything that has happened in the past year. Now it’s time to indulge ourselves in the life of Kenny Johnson for the 3rd time. If you thought my life was crazy before, this will definitely make you shake your head.

CHAPTER 1

MUTUAL ENDING & OLD BEGINNING

I’m sitting at my desk in my office going thru documents on my computer. Work has been heavy lately so I’ve been quite the busy one. Sydney knocks on my office door to get my attention. I look up at her and smile.
“What ya need baby girl?” I asked her.
“May I come in?” She asked.
“By all means.” I replied. She walked in and leaned over my shoulder.
“It’s goin on midnight. What are you lookin at?” She asked me.
“Dad has me lookin over some thangs. I want to finish this before I go to bed.”
“Kenny, you’ve been working hard all day. In fact, I don’t remember the last time you weren’t in this room.” She started smiling. “I remember the last time I was in this room.” I started grinning. “Don’t you think you’re working a lil too hard?”
“Kinda. I’m sorry, Sydney, you’re right. Maybe I should give this a rest for a lil while. But I mean it’s not like I’ve neglected y’all.”
“Not at all. I just don’t want you to become a workaholic.”
“I feel ya. Listen, baby, I’m not goin to work my self to death. It’s just I don’t like goin to bed with unfinished work on my hands. Why do you think I neva stop afta you’ve had 16,000 orgasms or however many you have? Mainly cuz I ain’t got mine yet. That’s unfinished business that will be completed.” She started laughing.
“You’re right.” She got on top of me and wrapped her arms around my neck. “Listen, I want you to know that I couldn’t be happier then I am now.”
“Neither can I.” I kissed her. “I tell ya what; run us a nice bath and I’ll join you. I promise.”
“Ok.” She kissed me then got up. I watched her leave and smiled. As she left, Will knocked on my door.
“What’s up folk?”
“Aye, K, do you have last month’s budget?” He asked me.
“Let me check.” I looked through the files on my laptop and pulled it up. “Right here.”
“How much did we spend on the Airline project?”
“Nothing.”
“What?”
“We weren’t goin to start that til this month, remember?”
“Damn, that’s right.” He started laughing. “Dawg, I was in my office tryin to figure that out for like 20 mins.” I laughed with him.
“Aye, I’m glad you came in here. I need to see how your daughter’s commercial did.”
“Got that for ya.” I looked at his results.
“Her commercial sparked a 65% increase?”
“Yep. Especially since the world was able to set eyes on Karla for the first time.”
“Not to mention her big speech.” I stated.
“Oh yea, that was very good.” Will admired.
“You’re goin to make this really difficult.”
“I have to give you a lil somethin to work for.” He stated with a huge smile.
“You’re the man, I can tell ya that.” I stood up and grabbed a book off my bookcase. “I was lookin through this book and noticed some thangs about it.”
“Like what?”
“For one, it’s a best seller. It’s in color, only 65 pages, and has a worldwide release.”
“And what’s your point?”
“Written and drawn by Tierra Annetta Johnson.” I read.
“What?” I handed him the book. “Damn it. When did this happen?”
“Three days ago.”
“You released this three days ago and it already has that much success?”
“Yep.”
“Damn. I definitely give you your props.”
“Tierra is a brilliant girl. By the way, Dad and Uncle Tevin wants to put Tierra and Karla into our next movie.”
“Since when?”
“Since the development of a script that had us as single fathers.”
“Interesting.” At that moment, Chris and Dre knocked on my door.
“Aye, K, sorry to interrupt y’all, but we have a situation that we need a lil assistance with.” Chris said.
“Come in.” I told em. They sat down.
Will sat on my desk. When he did so, everything kinda paused. It was like a photo was taken so I could see this in 3rd person. Will and I looked just like our fathers and Chris and Dre were us. I started laughing on the inside.
“Iight, Dre and I want to add a casino and open 3 more across Cleveland.” Chris stated.
“Right.” Will said.
“The thing is we’re running into money problems.” Dre said.
“How’s that? You both have plenty of money from football contracts.” I stated.
“That’s what we thought, but everything is adding up to more then we can afford.” Chris said.
“So what do you suggest?” Will asked.
“We know we said we were goin to do this on our own, but that ain’t happenin. We would like to take up on your offer and be under SJ Enterprise.”
“Ah, so the only reason you want to be under us is for money. Is that all we are is a big bank?” I stated meanly. “Kiss my ass.” They looked shocked that I said that. Will and I looked at each otha and started laughing. “Nah, I’m just bullshittin. It’s good. Come in to the office on Monday. We’ll sit down and go through all the terms.”
“Matta fact, you can develop the terms.” Will added. Chris and Dre looked at each otha.
“Iight, bet.” We shook hands with them and they walked out. That’s when Sydney called me from upstairs.
“Baby, our bath is ready.” She said.
“I’m on my way.” I told her. I looked at Will. “I have a gorgeous, naked woman in a bath tub waiting on me, so if you don’t mind, I’ll holla at ya lata.”
“I feel ya. Remember, we have a meeting with the board in the morning.”
“On a Sunday morning?”
“Yea. Monday is cut-off. We were presenting our final ideas.”
“Oh yea. Iight. It was at 8, ri?”
“Yea.”
“It’s on.”
I gave him dap and we walked out my office. I locked it and went upstairs. I stopped in Tierra’s room. She was sleeping so soundly. I kissed her and wrapped her arm around a brand new bunny I bought her. I went into the bathroom. She had candles around the tub, champagne in glasses, music playing, and lights dim.
Sydney?” I called.
“Behind you.” She whispered. I turned around. She was in a gorgeous red silk robe. Under it was a gorgeous body that I just stared at. “Tonight, I want us to not discuss work. I want to spend time with the man I love and enjoy the pleasures that you give me.” I watched her as she turned around and slid off her robe. She walked by me and got in the tub. “So, are you just goin to stare or are you goin to get in with me?”
I smiled and started takin off my clothes. I got in the tub and she lied back on me. I went across her body with my hands and just enjoyed the touch of her skin.
“I’ve known you for 20 years. Have I ever lied to you?” I asked her.
“Never. Well, there was that one time you lied to me about your feelings.”
“I’m still tryin to forget.”
“Kenny, there’s a reason why I wanted us to spend this time together.”
“Why is that?”
“If I was goin to do this, I wanted it to be as painless as possible.”
“Do what?”
“Tonight is the last night I’m goin to spend with you.”
“What?” I said shocked.
“I’m moving out tomorrow. I’m goin to an apartment I just got in Richmond.”
“Why?” I asked.
“Kenny, you’re everything I want, need, and desire in a man. Like you said, we’ve known each other for 20 years. We’ve been best friends for 20 years. I neva imagined in my life I’d date my best friend. Things are becoming so unreal to me. I need some space and time to think things over.”
“Are you sayin you want to end our relationship?” I asked her. She looked down and then turned around to look me in the eyes.
“Yes.” She said softly. “I think things may be goin in a direction that neitha you nor I is ready for.” I thought about it.
“You’re right.” I agreed.
“What?”
“Maybe we should take some time apart. Relationship wise. I still want you as my best friend and for us to still chill together.”
“I wouldn’t want it any other way.” She agreed.
“I want it to be known though. I don’t want anyone but you when this break is over. I made the decision a long time ago that you are my last relationship.”
She turned around and looked directly in my eyes.
“Kenny, it warms my heart to hear you say that. I don’t want anyone else as well. I promise you as your best friend and lover….my heart, body and soul will always be yours.”
We kissed each other and enjoyed our bath. We talked about a few things; laughing and caressing each other’s body. We enjoyed that bath for an hour before getting out and having the best sex we’ve ever had. Maybe an understatement.

The next morning, I woke up and saw Tierra watching TV, eating cereal.
“Hey, princess.” I said to her.
“Hey, Daddy.” She replied, not looking away from her show. When commercial hit, she turned around. “Where did Sydney go?”
“She moved out, sweetie.”
“Did you do somethin to her?” She said as defensive as possible.
“No. We broke up.” I said, defensive as well.
“Why?”
“It was somethin we both felt was best right now. To get our heads straight and make sure it’s what we want.”
“Are y’all goin to get back together?” She asked.
“Yes we will. I don’t know when but I hope it’s very soon..”
“I hope so too.” She turned around and started watching her show again.
“So do I, angel.”
I got up and got a bowl of cereal. I sat next to Tierra and watched TV with her. I looked at the time and had 45 mins to get to the office. I finished eating and took a shower. When I got out the shower, I started getting dressed.
“Netta, did you want to stay here or go with me?” I asked her.
“Stay here.”
“Iight. Auntie Toya is downstairs, so if you need anything, let her know. Think you can handle that?” She nodded. I finished getting dressed and grabbed my keys. “Give me kiss.” She hugged me and gave me a kiss. “I’ll be back shortly. Love you.”
“Love you too, Daddy.” She said back.
I left the house and went downtown to SJ Enterprise. I went to the company board room. Will got there 45 seconds before I did. Everyone else had already arrived. I approached him.
“Ready?” I asked him.
“As I’ll ever be.” He replied.
“Let’s do it.” We set up our power point presentations and began. “Good Morning, Ladies and Gentlemen of the board,” I began, “as you know, Will and myself have been in this position for a lil ova a year. I feel that a lot of you have agreed with a lot of our business tactics, yet some are still skeptical.”
“So, let’s start off with getting out all the problems y’all have with us.” Will added.
“I’ll begin.” Rust Klips said. Rust is a 47 year old that feels he should have been CEO of Johnson Corporation. “You spending money on ideas from your daughter are not necessarily good business tactics. You’re way of deciding things without the approval of the board is not a way of conducting good business practices.”
“Ok, I’ll address that. Anyone else?” I said.
“Yea, I have one.” Earl Frell said. Earl is a 34 year old that feels he should have been CEO of Smith Corporation. “I can’t say I agree with anything that Mr. Smith is doing. Opening a bank in East Cleveland is by far the dumbest thing possible. That bank is looking to be robbed once every day.”
“I’ll address that.” Will said.
“Anyone else.” I said. We looked around. “Dad, Uncle Tevin, do y’all have anything?”
“We’re good, proceed.” Uncle Tevin said.
“Iight, Mr. Klips, I’ll address you first.” I began. “You’re right; my decisions don’t go through the board. But you know what, that’s not goin to change. I will continue to make decisions without the board’s approval or knowledge. I have parents so I don’t need the board tryin to be em. As far as my daughter’s ideas, I have nothin to say bout that except statistics.” I showed the numbers of everything she did on the first slide. “My daughter had 35 ideas. All 35 I went along with and produced. All 35 ideas have succeeded not just well, but DAMN!!! We’ve made more off my daughter’s ideas then we have on just computers. What we’ve done here was expand our horizons, reaching a wider demographic. As long as she’s succeeding, I’m not denying any of her ideas.”
“Mr. Frell, to touch on your comment, a bank in EC was very risky. But you know what; I guarantee that the bank will not be successfully robbed. In fact, if one attempt is made, I guarantee no more will be made. I believe that because I put you in charge of the security there. I know if you follow the plan that I outlined, everything will be kosher. Other businesses have forgotten about EC, but we think that there’s a huge market in that area. Y’all just don’t see it.” We looked around. “Now, other things that Kenny and I have been thinking bout is our current employee numbers.”
“I agree.” Mr. Frell said. “We already have a set budget on how much money is going towards employee salaries. I think we need to cut back jobs.”
“Definitely.” Mr. Klips agreed.
“We were kinda thinking of things the otha way.” Will said.
“R&D has a set budget. Employee salaries shouldn’t. R&D has a $689 trillion budget.” I added.
“I also think that should be cut back.” Mr. Klips said.
“If anything, it should be increased.” I disagreed. “R&D is the main reason we’re doin well.”
“We also want to increase jobs 500%. We want to add 20 million jobs by the end of the year.” Will said.
“That’s an outrage.” Mr. Frell said.
“That is very impossible.” Gary Tostins said. Gary is the head of HR. “20 million jobs is a lot. For what, exactly, do we need that many jobs for?”
“We’re not talkin bout adding 20 million jobs to work here at headquarters. We’re adding jobs around the world. SJ Enterprise is goin to be opening places across the globe and need the jobs to be filled. Not to mention, we have 20 people retiring from R&D and we need that staff to remain at 345.” Will said.
“Now that I think about it, we may need to add 50 million more employees instead of 20 million.” I corrected.
“You’re tryin to spend more money on salaries now?” Mr. Frell said.
“We have an unlimited supply of money. You forget we have more then enough funding to do this. Our earnings will still be greater then our spending.” Will added.
“In fact, we’ve both made anotha decision. Tierra will be the new spokes girl for the entire kids’ branch of Johnson Corporation and Karla will be the new spokes girl for Smith Corporation.” I said. We saw the displeased look on Mr. Frell and Mr. Klips. “Any questions?”
“How many businesses can we expect to open by the end of the year around the world?” Ms. Lemons asked.
Denise Lemons is a 37 year old sexy woman that made her way up the chain with more then hard work. Her department is Accounting. She doesn’t look anywhere near her age and had the body of a 21 year old. She’s had a crush on me for a while and made it very known.
“We’re looking at about 500,000. At the least. We want to have some type of city branch in every major city in the world.” I replied.
“What will be the starting salary for all new employees?” She asked.
“We’re looking at a good 6 figures for those under management and 7-8 figures for management and above. That’s all yearly.” I told her. “Anyone else with questions?”
“Mr. Johnson, Mr. Smith,” Dad began, “tell us again why Tierra and Karla are the spokes girls.”
“Tierra and Karla are by far bringing in more success then we can ever dream of. The number of parents in this world are increasing and they are struck with decisions on how they can please their children.” Will said.
“So, Tierra and Karla have given them things that they can get for their child or do with their child.” I continued. “We’ve also done things so that it will be affordable for all parents.” I flipped to another slide. “We did a study showing that 95% of consumers are more likely to buy something from SJE then not. Having products for every demographic in every category means we will own 95% of that market by just stamping SJE on it.”
“Anyone else with questions?” Will asked. We looked around. “Dad?” Dad and Uncle Tevin stood. Will and I sat down.
“We’ve always trusted Will and Kenny with their decisions and they haven’t steered us wrong yet. We’re goin to keep pushing forward with anything they have.” Dad said.
“I see no point in fixing somethin that’s not broken.” Uncle Tevin added.
“Everything will be sent to you regarding future products. If no one has anything, this meeting is adjourned.” Everyone got up and gathered their stuff. Dad and Uncle Tevin left. Ms. Lemons approached me.
“Good job putting Klips in his place.”
“His hatred is becoming annoying.” I said.
“I would love to discuss a lot of your ideas over dinner tonight.” She suggested.
“I don’t know. I think it’s prolly too early.”
“I won’t take no for an answer. I’m cooking.” I looked at her and smiled.
“Iight.”
“Great. Be there at about 8.” She gave me her card with her address on it.
“It’s on.” She walked away. I grabbed my stuff and went to my car.

When I got home, Tierra was in her room writing. I stopped at the door and just watched her. I smiled as she didn’t notice I was there.
“What you writing?” I asked. She jumped.
“How long were you there?”
“Not long.” I walked in.
“I was writing a poem.”
“About what?”
“Life.” I smiled.
“What about life?”
“Just the meaning of it.”
“Sounds deep. I want it on my bed the second you’re done and not a moment sooner.”
“Yes, sir.” She smiled.
“You hungry.” I asked her.
“Nope.”
“I’mma go to Grandpa’s, did you wanna come?”
“Yep. I want to stay too.”
“You can do that too.”
“Grandma said the next time I stay with her we were goin to make cookies and ice cream from scratch.”
“Sounds good. You’re goin to bring me back some, right?”
“Wouldn’t dream not to.”
“You better.” I kissed her. “I’ll let you get back to your poem.” I got up and walked to the door.
“Daddy?” She called.
“Yea, angel.” I said as I turned around and stopped walking.
“I love you.” She came up to me and gave me a big hug. I hugged her back and smiled.
“I love you too, sweetie.”
She let go and got back on her bed. I looked at her for a lil while then walked out. I sat in my room and looked at a picture of me and Sydney. We looked perfect together. Damn I miss the fuck out of her. What is this break all about anyway? My phone started ringing.
“Yea.” I answered.
“Hello, Mr. Johnson, this is Trisha Gregory, remember me?”
“How can I forget? How are you?”
“I’m good. How’s my favorite former student?”
“She’s good.”
“And her father?”
“He’s good too. What can I do for you?”
“I haven’t seen Tierra in a long time and was wonderin if I could see her.”
“By all means, you can come here if you want.”
“That would be perfect. I’ll be there shortly.”
“See you in a minute then.”
“Bye.”
Bye.” I hung up wit her and thought to myself.
That kinda came out of nowhere. It’s almost like everyone knows I’m available. Is it posted on a website or something?

Ms. Gregory came to the door 10 minutes later. I opened it for her.
“Hey, that was quick.” I said.
“I don’t live far.”
“That’s good to know.” I shook her hand. “It’s nice to see you again.” She was still sexy. “Come on, Tierra is back here.” I took her hand and led her to the back. “Baby girl, guess who’s here.” Tierra looked up and had a big smile.
“Hi, Ms. Gregory.” She got up and ran to her, giving her a big hug.
“Hey, sweetheart. How are you doin?”
“I’m fine. I miss you.”
“I miss you too.” Ms. Gregory looked at me. “She’s been doin some growing. What you been feeding her?”
“Steak and chicken mainly.” I said. She smiled and put Tierra down.
“I guess meat is the magic ingredient.” She commented.
“Y’all take a minute to talk. I have to make a phone call.”
I left the room and went into the living room. I can hear their voices and every once in a while they’d laugh. I guess they had quite a conversation. I pulled my phone out and called Sydney. No answer. I then decided to call Candace. No answer there either. I then called Ma.
“Hello?” She answered.
“Hey, Ma, you busy?” I asked her.
“I am but I have a moment before your father returns. What’s up?”
“Have you seen or talked to Sydney lately?”
“Yea, she’s at work right now. She has the night shift for the rest of the week and then switching to days.”
“Days? She loves nights. Why would she switch?”
“She requested days for a little while. She didn’t tell you anything?”
“We broke up last night. Taking a break, so to speak. I don’t know what’s going on with her.”
“Well I swore I wouldn’t say anything so you’ll have to wait until she’s comfortable to tell you.” She proclaimed.
“Should I be thinking the worse?” I wondered.
“Of course not. She is doing this for a good reason and when she’s ready, she’ll return to you. Don’t worry sweetie. Everything will be fine. Trust me. Better yet, trust her. What ever you do, don’t mention anything to her. She’ll tell you when it’s time.” I sighed.
“Ok. Thanks Ma. What are you doing anyways?”
“Trust me, you don’t want to know.”
“I know what that means. Gross!”
“Gotta stay outta grown folk business sweetie.” She stated.
“You are right about that.” I could tell the conversation in my daughter’s room was ending. “Well let me go so you can do things that I don’t want to think about. Thanks for the info.”
“You’re welcome. That’s what I’m here for.”
“Love you, Ma.”
“Love you too.”
“Later.”
“Later.”
I hung up the phone and sat on the couch. Caressing my goatee, I thought about what Ma said. I had to trust her and Sydney. Until then, I was going to do me. I looked towards the hallway as Trisha walked into the living room.
“She’s still the sweetheart she’s always been.” She said as she saw me.
“Yea.” We walked into the kitchen. “Wine?”
“Sure.” I got her a glass and poured some wine.
“So how’s everything?” I asked.
“Ok, I guess.”
“Really?” I asked, not believing her.
“Kinda. Things have gotten a lil upsetting. I’m not sure if it’s me or just my taste, but I haven’t really been happy as of late.”
“What exactly is goin on?” I asked. I gave her a glass of wine, sat next to her and looked in her eyes.
“I can’t remember the last time I felt like a woman. The last time I felt alive. It’s been so long since I’ve been touched passionately or admired for more then my body. Ya know?” She gazed at me and sipped her wine.
“As gorgeous as you are, how do you not have a man to fulfill all of your………needs?” I said, picking my words carefully.
“Let’s just say I haven’t quite found the right one to capture my attention.”
She got a little closer to me. I knew where this could go, nothing was really holding me back, but I was just goin to take my time with it. I had a few hours before my date with Denise, so I had to have a time passer.
“Maybe you weren’t looking in the right places.” I said softly.
“I thought that, but I think my problem lies with the fact my attention is towards someone else that may be out of my league.” She said softly.
“What makes you think he’s out of your league?” I asked her even softer.
“This……….man….….my attention is towards…….he’s extremely sexy, very smart, creative, sweet, and just the perfect guy. He’s successful in everything he does and just looks like he desires perfection. I’m not perfect, so I don’t think I’m in his league. He also has a beautiful, smart daughter that takes after her father in many ways.”
“What makes you think he desires perfection?” I asked her.
“A man of his caliber doesn’t deserve anything less. I wouldn’t be able to satisfy him in all the ways he need.”
“Maybe all he needs is the love, care, and devotion of a good woman. This man seems like the perfect person for you in a way, but you may be overlooking one thing.”
“What might that be?”
“The only reason you feel you’re not good for him is because he may not want a relationship.” I leaned in a little closer and looked into her eyes. She looked into mine and looked taken.
“What does he want?”
“To touch the body of a gorgeous woman.” I touched her face and brushed her skin gently down her arms. I could tell her heart began to race as her breathing picked up. “To smell her beauty.” I got closer to her, smelled her hair, and lightly touched her with my nose around her neck.
“What else does he want?” She asked, breathing deeply.
“To bring you the very thing that’s been absent in your life.”
“What would that be?”
“Pure satisfaction.”
I kissed her lips. At first she didn’t kiss back because she was still in awe. After a while, she kissed me back and gave in to her desire. I picked her up and carried her into my room, closing and locking the door. I lied her down on the bed and started taking off her clothes.
“Wait, I don’t want Tierra to hear me.” She stated.
“I don’t want her to hear you either.” I turned the sound blocker on and had Tierra’s security cameras on all my monitors. “No matter what, I have to keep an eye on my daughter. If you find me looking away, it’s to check on her.”
“I understand.” We started kissing again.

I walked Trisha to her car, having to almost carry her the whole way. I went back upstairs and got ready for my date with Denise. I had an hour to get ready. Dad was goin to pick up Tierra so I didn’t have to worry bout that. I was dressed and ready to go just as he arrived.
“Baby girl, you ready?” I asked Tierra.
“Yes, Daddy.” She replied. She had her back pack on and opened the door for Dad. “Hi, Grandpa.”
“Hey, Netta.” Dad replied. “You ready to go?”
“Yep.”
“I’ll walk down wit y’all.” I said as I grabbed my keys. I locked up and walked with them.
“Where’s Sydney?” Dad asked me.
“She moved out. We broke up.” I replied.
“You broke up wit her or she broke up wit you?”
“Mutual.”
“Who initiated?”
“She did.”
“So she broke up wit you then.”
“She made a statement and I agreed. We both felt things were heading in a direction we weren’t ready for, so we’re taking a lil time apart.”
“You takin da break to dip into somethin else ri?”
“Gotta stay in shape.” I responded, smiling.
Dad smiled back. I looked down at Tierra. She was singing a song that I always sang to her. I smiled and listened to her.
We got downstairs. I said goodbye to Tierra and watched her get in the car wit Dad. Once they left, I got in my car and headed to Denise’s house. She had a real nice one-story house in University Hts. I parked and rang her doorbell. She answered the door wearing a beautiful blue dress.
“Right on time.” She said. “Please, come in.”  I walked in and handed her the flowers I had.
“I would say thanks for inviting me, but you kinda forced me.” I joked. She smiled and smelled the flowers.
“These are beautiful.” She commented. “Please, allow me to give you a tour of the place.”
She took my hand and walked me around the house. She had a very exquisite taste in African art. I admired her style. She led me back to her dinning room. I sat down as she brought me my plate. She had candles lit and the flowers I brought her on the table.
“This looks good ri hea.” I said. “What is it?”
“A secret recipe. All you need to know is chicken and beef is in it.”
“Fair enough.” I tasted it and loved it.
“You know your talents as a CEO seems so natural. Most people that’s been CEO for years can’t compare to your knowledge and handling of the position.”
“Thanks, but remember who my father is.”
“Mr. Johnson is a great man, but you’re even better.”
“I’m dying to know. Over a decade separates us. What is your interest in me?”
She smiled and continued eating. I left it alone and continued eating. She ended up changing the subject about somethin else and we talked for about an hour. We got up from the dinning room table and sat on the couch drinking wine. I was tellin her about a childhood memory.
“I don’t exactly remember how I did it,” I began, “but I do know that when it was all said and done, I broke over $2 million worth of merchandise. I swear, Dad wanted to whoop my ass, but all he could do was laugh.” She laughed.
“Did you ever find out what you tripped on?”
“My shoelace.” I replied. She laughed some more. “I stepped on my shoelace that I didn’t know was loose and tripped.”
“Oh my god.” I took anotha sip of wine.
“This has been fun.” I said. I looked at my watch.
“Listen, Kenny, to answer the question you asked me earlier, the reason I’m interested in you is for sex.”
“Excuse me?” I didn’t think I heard her correctly.
“You’re right, over a decade separates us, yet I have a strong sexual attraction to you. I don’t want anything serious. I just want you to put it on me. I want to feel it for a week. I don’t want to be able to walk for a while. I want to be able to call in on Monday morning and say I can’t come to work because I can’t walk so I’ll do everything on my laptop.” She got closer to me and looked into my eyes. “Can you do that for me?”
“Without a doubt, but are you sure you want that?”
“I neva met anyone to do that. I’ve been askin for it for a long time.”
“So be it.”
She started kissing me. For the next two hours, I gave her exactly what she wanted. In the process, she lost her voice.

I started getting dressed. Denise was barely able to move.
“How is it possible to be married to you and have a job?” She asked me.
“If you want sex like that, it’s not possible.”
“Are you sayin you normally don’t have sex like that on an everyday basis?”
“Not at all. Trust me, I neva leave a woman unsatisfied, but I don’t aim to do what I just did to you unless requested. I mean that was some hardcore, deep penetration, ‘I think I’m poking your stomach’ type of fucking there.” I told her. She slightly laughed but didn’t have the air for it. I grabbed my keys. “I’ll see you in a week or so.” I kissed her and smiled.
“I guess so.” She replied. I kissed her cheek and left.

When I got home, I went to my office and began thinking. Ever since Sydney left, I’ve had an urge to do things that I told myself I wouldn’t do. I decided to call Will.
“What up K?” He answered.
“What’s new?”
“As far as what?”
CTB.” He got silent for a moment.
“I see you want to do thangs like that. Gill is up at 7-Eleven and been threatening to do somethin. I say we go silence him.” He said.
“Good idea.”
“Be ready in 10.”
“It’s on.”
I hung up wit him and went up to my room. I changed in all black, grabbed my favorite guns and a few clips. I met Will downstairs, ready to go old school on some cats.
“It’s just me and you?” Will asked me.
“Yep.”
“This is goin to get bloody.”
“I’m expectin it.”
We went out to Will’s car. He drove to the spot. We saw Gill and 4 otha cats wit him. We pulled up without tryin to be sneaky. We walked up to the group. They looked at us like we were crazy. We didn’t say a word, just swung at the first person we came up to. I knocked out one, Will knocked out anotha, and it was like the old days. I then pulled out my AMV and pointed it at Gill’s head. He put his hands in the air and looked scared.
“Poppin off at da grill, huh?” I asked him. “I thought you knew betta den dat.”
“Look, Kenny, it wasn’t like that. It wasn’t me.” Gill replied.
“Then who was it?” Will asked him.
“T-Bird from Bridge. He’s been spittin BS from da jump.”
“What’s his beef wit us?” I asked.
“A couple years ago, y’all broke his sista’s heart.”
“Who da hell is his sista?” I asked.
“Tina.”
“Oh yea, we ran the train on her.” Will reminded me.
“That’s his sista? I guess I’d be mad too.” I said. “Iight, so what’s your whole key in this?” I asked Gill.
“I was just the repeater to make sure word got to you. I swear I didn’t start any of it. He was paying me and you know I have child support eating me up.”
“True dat.” Will agreed. “So why should we spare your life?”
“Cuz I know where T-Bird is.” Will and I looked at each other. I put my gun away.
“Speak.” I said.
“T-Bird is at the Holiday Inn on Broad and Hill. He’s throwin a hotel party for his sista. His whole crew is there and a few othas. It may not be a good idea to go there now.”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Will corrected him, “now is a perfect time.” We turned around and headed back to the car. “We may need a lil mo ammo.”
“I’m way ahead of you.”
I already got some clips out his trunk. I loaded em up and handed him his. We got to the hotel and could tell exactly which room the party was in. We got out the car and went inside the hotel room. At first no one paid us no mind until we saw T-Bird’s sista. She stared at us in dismay. She saw T-Bird in the kitchen, ran to us, pulled us into a bedroom, and locked the door.
“What are y’all doin hea?” She asked us.
“Your brotha has been poppin off, so we bout to shut him up.” Will replied.
“Are you crazy?” She said. “I can’t let you do that. I refuse. Besides, it’s not necessarily a good idea since there’s a lot of people here that will have his back.”
“We’re expectin that.” I told her.
“If he sees y’all, he will kill y’all on sight.”
“Of course.” I replied. “It’s not too often you find out yo sista is gangbanged by us.” Will looked at me like I just told a blatant lie. I started smiling. “Well, I guess it is often.”
“I’m tryin to forget.” She stated.
“No you’re not.” Will told her. “You know damn well you’d do it again without a single bit of hesitation.”
“You wish.” She said.
“Not really. I’d wish for something a lil better.” Will stated.
“Are you actually denying you want us?” I asked out of pure curiousity.
“Denying.” She proclaimed.
Will and I looked at each otha and smiled. We looked at Tina. I made the first move. I slowly approached her and touched her face.
“We had so much fun the last time.” I said softly. “You took it all like a soldier, remember?” She backed up into the wall, tryin not to give in. Will approached her and started unbuttoning her shirt.
“No, I don’t want to do this.” She said. I reached up her skirt and pulled down her thong. “Stop, I don’t want to do this.”
Will kissed and licked her neck. Her breathing picked up. I sucked on her nipples, nibbling a lil bit. We both had a finger inside of her.
“If you don’t want it, then just stop us. You know we won’t rape you.” Will whispered to her. “If you want us to truly stop, then push me away.”
“I can’t.” She honestly stated.
“Why? Are you too drunk?”
“I’m sober.” Her eyes were closed and she was biting her lip.
“Are you high?”
“I’m clean.” She moaned.
“Then why can’t you stop us?”
“Cuz I want it bad.” She finally admitted. I stood up and we both backed away. Horny, she looked at us in complete confusion.
“Sorry, we’re not here for pleasure.” I told her. We both smelled our fingers and wiped em on her shirt. “Got a sweet smell to it.” Will nodded in agreement.
“You asshole.” She said. She tried to open the door, but Will had his hand on it. “Get out the way or I’ll scream.”
“Scream. The music is too loud for anyone to hear you.” Will said.
“What do you want?” She asked.
“We’re goin to handle our business whether you’re dead or alive.” Will told her.
“Meaning what?” I pulled out my AMV and pointed it at her head.
“Let’s go, shall we?” I said. I used her as a hostage as Will opened the door. T-Bird immediately saw us and the music stopped.
“What the hell are you doin here?” He yelled.
“To deal with you.” I told him. “You got beef wit us, don’t be a bitch and just talk shit. Handle it.”
“You want to talk about a bitch, yet you’re hiding behind my sista.”
“Hiding? Is that what you call this? This is nowhere near hiding. I’m merely buying myself time.”
“To do what?” I was in position and was ready.
“Make a statement.”
I pushed Tina into T-Bird. I pulled out my otha gun and started shooting everyone that remotely looked like they were associated with T-Bird. Will did the same. No one was able to get a shot off as our quickness denied them a chance. T-Bird looked at all his men that were on the ground. We had our gun pointed at him. Tina was tryin to protect him.
“Thank your sista. If it wasn’t for her, you’d be dead by now.” I told him.
“The next time you start flappin yo gums, you won’t be alive long enough to even get a laugh out of it.” Will said. We put our guns away and headed out the room.

When we got home, I went into my office and turned on my computer. My cell phone started going off. It was Sydney.
“Hey, baby girl, what’s goin on?” I answered.
“Just checkin up on you. How you doin?”
“I’m good. Yourself?”
“I’m iight. Word has it you went to a hotel party and basically crashed it.”
“Don’t listen to everything you hear.”
“It was from Candace who got her info from Will.”
“I guess I can’t deny it then. Yea, we had to do deese cats cuz day was flappin day gums just a lil too much, ya dig?”
“I understand completely, but why are you back trackin?” She asked.
“How am I back trackin?”
“You’re goin back to your old ways.”
“In more ways then you know.”
“I’m not even goin to ask what that means.” I didn’t say anything because I knew she was bout to change her mind. Starting……………..now. “Iight, what does that mean?”
“You remember Trisha Gregory?”
“Yea, that was Tierra’s former teacher.”
“She came through early today to supposedly see Tierra.” I told her.
“What do you mean supposedly?” She asked.
“She claims she was here to see Tierra, but I think it was more me.”
“Are you that conceited?” She joked. I laughed.
“Nah, it was how it went down. Next thing I notice, she’s tellin me how she has her attention my way and she wants to be wit me.”
“Dead up?”
“Dead up. It was the craziest thing.”
“I know you, Kenny. You did her, didn’t you?”
“I’m sorry, I had to.”
“Don’t blame you. She pretty much put herself out there.”
“That ain’t even the best part. Afta my meeting this morning, Denise was hittin on me and told me to come to her house for dinner.”
“Told you? You mean invited you, ri?”
“Nah, she told me to come. She wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
“Denise……..Denise….. oh, isn’t that the tall 37 year old?”
“Yea, that’s her.”
“You did her too?”
“She was beggin for it. She wanted me to hurt her.” She started laughing.
“It’s not too often women tell you that.” She said.
“That’s what I said. But who am I to deny her what she wants, ya dig?”
“So you’re back to your old self.”
“I guess so. Killed me a few people, boned two fine gurls today, I’m pretty much back to the old roots.”
“I’m not surprised.”
“I am.” I leaned back in my chair. “What’s been goin on wit you though?”
“Not much. I’m holdin things down to da best of my ability, ya know.”
“Of course.”
“Things are getting quite interesting.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, an ongoing battle in me is taking place. I have a strong desire to tell you everything, but I don’t know if I can just yet. I hate keeping you in the dark.”
“In the dark about what? Can you tell me?” I asked her.
“No, not at the time. I’m under guidance from a third party so I have to adhere to the process. I promise you, I will inform you of everything.”
“I feel ya.” I picked up a picture of her and smiled. “I must say, we’ve had a lot of good times.”
“I think that’s all we had. That may be the problem. We haven’t really had problems in our relationship. No stress what so ever. Everything is too perfect.”
“Yea, that is a lil scary. I think me and Monique had the same type of relationship. That’s prolly why subconsciously I’m so coo wit dis.”
“Yea. Oh, damn, you almost made me forget the real reason I was calling you.”
“Iight, don’t know how I almost made you forget, but press on.”
“Would you like to take me to lunch tomorrow?” She asked.
“Would love to, my dear, do you still have the same break?”
“Yea. I’ll be out front, so you don’t have to park.”
“It’s on, then. We goin to the same place like always?” I confirmed.
“Of course, you know how we roll.”
“Iight, were Candace and Will goin?”
“I think so. I’ll ask Candace to be sure.”
“Works fa me.” I replied.
“Ok, well, I’ll see you tomorrow. I need to go to the blood ward.”
“It’s on baby girl. Have a good remaining night.”
“I’d say the same to you, but you always do.”
“Fa sho.”
“Good night, K.”
“Good night, sexy.”
I waited til she hung up and then hung up myself. I sat in my chair thinking bout her. I missed her and wanted to be with her, but respected the time she needed. Will came to my door.
“Aye, Kenny, you got a minute?” He asked me.
“Yea, roll in.” I told him.
“Iight, first thangs, first. Chris and Dre signed the contract, as well as I. All it needs is your signature.” He handed me the contract. I read it over.
“This states we’re givin them $39 billion. Is that all they need?”
“At the moment, but there is an increase clause.” I read the increase clause.
“Oh. Iight sounds good to me.” I signed it. “Were you and Candace havin lunch together tomorrow?”
“Yea, did Sydney ask you already?”
“Yea, I just talked to her not too long ago.”
“Tight. Now, I looked over all the orders and emailed the list to Dad. All payments have been received and will process tomorrow. Should be in the account as early as 0900.”
“Actually, it’s in there now.” I told him. I loaded up the account balance.
“Damn, it is. How bout that.”
“I’m glad you’re here. I had the estimated opening dates for 300 businesses. 23 of them will open on the 30th of this month. 34 will open on the 2nd of next month, 123 of them will open on the 14th of next month and the remaining120 will open on the 23rd.”
“So we need to have all our employees by next week?”
“Yea.”
“Takin cared of. That will go through Human Resources; I’ll let em know what’s goin down.”
“Fa sho.”
“But hey, business aside, you pulled Denise, ri?”
“She’s goin to be out of work for a lil while.” I said, smiling.
“My nigga.”
“I do what I can.”
“Fa sho. Iight, nig, hold it down. I’m bout to take my fine ass to bed.”
“I feel ya on dat.”
I shut down my computer and headed to my room. I got undressed and lied down in my bed. I thought about Sydney until I went to sleep.
